September Randomness

From the lack of blog posts you can probably tell we've had a busy September. I am finally getting around to a few recap posts. We were on our Philly trip for a 4 day weekend over Labor day, and last weekend we had a jam packed schedule of family visits, birthdays, parties, dinners with friends, etc. This weekend felt like much of the same - family visits, a road trip, etc. So here are a few pictures of Teagan keeping busy!

These boots were made for walkin' - coincidentally for as much as T loves them I hate them for the blisters and soreness they cause to my feet!

Philly Vacay Recap

We took a family trip to Philadelphia over labor day weekend. Teagan had a fun-filled long weekend visiting the zoo, the aquarium, and spending time with Mom and Dad. We also went to the Liberty Bell and the Philadelphia Mint, and found some outlet malls. We made a stop for Philly cheesesteaks as well as several other restaurants. After Philadelphia, we made a stop in Lancaster, PA for some outlet mall shopping and went to an amish house and farm museum. Teagan enjoyed the farm animals, however she did not enjoy the house tour (15 months is not a good age for "sit still for 30 min in a crowded room and listen to a tour guide blab) so we bailed early on that.

We had a great vacation and it was a great way to end the summer - here are some highlights for your enjoyment!

15 Months

Teagan turned 15 months on Saturday, and today she had her 15 month check-up. She weighs 21 lbs and is 31" tall. She got a clean bill of health and shed relatively few tears after her shots.

On Saturday, Teagan got to play with her favorite puppy pals at Brad and Kristen's. She enjoyed kisses from Dylan and Daisy, and running around after the pups and in the grass. Taking pictures at dusk of an energetic toddler meant more blurry shots than good ones, but here are some pictures. Also included is a cute shot from a week ago.

(not quite) 15 Month Photo Shoot

It's a week or two early, but Sunday I did a "15 Month" photo shoot with Teagan. Oh my how things have changed since the last photo shoot - Teagan was just starting to take steps then, now she is running all over. It was hard to get her to stay still long enough to take pictures. But clever Mama had a trick in her back pocket - a spray bottle. It was hot outside, and a cool mist on Teagan's face was enough to keep her interested and get her to chase me while I ran ahead, turned around and snapped pictures. Eventually she just cried until I gave her the bottle, so my next trick was to snap shots from the shoulder up when the bottle was at her waist! We then headed out for a change of scenery on a wagon ride, and snapped some pictures along the way. There are many more (hundreds more) where this came from so maybe sometime soon I will post a "part II" to share more pictures.

Visitors

We enjoyed a quick visit from Uncle Dave and cousin Emma on Saturday. We had a great evening with them and a fun breakfast on Sunday. Teagan had fun playing with Emma and a container of water on the deck. She dumped it out, then played bubbles, then moved on to blocks. We can't wait to see them again!

Spray Park

The summer heat has finally arrived in western NY. Teagan enjoyed her second trip to the splash park on Friday to beat the temps and humidity. She enjoyed running to all of the fountains and through the mist. Since then the temperatures have climbed even higher so there may be splash park trips again in the near future!

Ice Cream!

Teagan took her first trip to Abbott's to get ice cream tonight. Unfortunately we quickly found Teagan was too distracted, too tired, and too full for more than 2 bites of her ice cream (vanilla custard!!!). She had fun playing in the grass, climbing the little hill, and sitting at the picnic table. She wore a cute dress to daycare, but came home in a "spare" outfit (it's a long, funny story...if you really want to hear it just ask). Seeing these pictures makes me realize perhaps its time to update her spare clothes at daycare with a bigger size. In fairness to me, the cloth diaper is to blame for the shorts being too tight! Who wears short shorts??? T wears short shorts!!!

Sick Day

Teagan was sent home from daycare with pink eye yesterday - well, suspected pink eye. We took her to the Dr. to confirm that she has it. She couldn't go back to daycare today because she hadn't been on antibiotic drops long enough, so I had to stay home with her for her "sick day". I use the term loosely because she feels great. So, Teagan and I have had quite an awesome sick day together. We got up, ate breakfast, played together. After a morning snooze we headed to the zoo for a few hours, and stopped at the playground on the way home. We enjoyed lunch, some more play time, and now Teagan is napping while I check in with work. If the weather cooperates we may try to go to the splash park this afternoon but it is looking yucky out right now. Here are some zoo pictures:
